r u sure about
>i gave him basic tips like farm warding, learning heroes
and, nvm if he played ~100h.
and it is normal if he is didnt play MOBA games before.
you played dota for 500 hours and still have a negative winrate in normal skill
also don't tell him to pick axe, that's retarded
Problem 1: His most played heroes with only around 100 games are Invoker and Io? Whut?
I'm bad at Dota too and have like 5000 hours in it, so what. Or should i say i was bad at it, since i dont play it anymore.
Tell him to just play a lot and try to watch good players play. No one with 100 hours has any fuckin clue how to play, you probably need 500 + hours to learn basics and another 500 to become "decent". He'll still suck with 2000 hours in it probably, like most of people.
100 hours isn't a lot you know that right? It takes like 1500 hours to scratch the surface
100 hours and he still sucks
still

Look at yourself OP
Russian normal skill EU west queuer with negative winrate
Unfortunately for me, I sucked when I had good internet. Now that I don't, I play [scripted] bots all the time (over 300 bot matches).
It helps alot. Mechanically speaking, I'd say I'm about 5k mmr. But sadly that might never be a reality.
Point is, play lotsa bots and watch pros to inspire you.
@SheGz
You're in normal bracket. Now you've played 300 bot matches and watched some pro games and you rape some bots ala 2ez4rtz and whop you're 5k mmr?
Don't work like that at all, sorry to say.
Okay, i did not read all the comments but 100 hours is nothing for a moba like dota, even 8 years ago (+/-) when i started playing dota 1, and i'm not that good... Anyway... Dota is a hard as hell game, from experience of other mobas i can tell dota 2 have the toughest beginning until the "end" of learning. the only tip i can give you is, give him easy heroes, teach him only positioning anf farming, only that two will be a real nice start. good lucky.
Ps.: some people really don't have the "moba" skills.
ps¹.: be patient, you will need it, as he will nee it 2.
you definitely aren't good at dota if you have 100 hours. i have 5.5k hours. i'm terrible at dota...
I laugh at all these ppl w thousands of hours and still suck.
I have around 500 and alr high skill.
How does he die so many times.. I don't understand.. If you know you die a lot then shut the fuck up and stand back.. Teach him that..
The fastest way to improve playing is to have a party match making with much higher skill level from you.

I'm literally rolling on the fucking floor laughing my ass off..
You dont really start to "understand" the game as a whole until about 600-1k hours of actual games...
Play easier heroes. Ogre magi is pretty simple. Jakiro is simple. Easy heroes to get use to the game.
I can tell he's really bad. Look at his winrate and heroes' KDA lol.
I think he needs to play first the easiest heroes. Playing invoker and IO is like getting rejected by your crush (if you are still new to dota)

If you think about it, even with that weird build, your friend was doing well. Abaddon was doing well. SB aswell. But as tower damage shows, they weren't pushing to win.
Abaddon didn't die a single time. He had 3 rapiers. One death was enought to punish them hard. 4/20/7 Terrorblade won the game rofl.
The lack of BKBs in this match is way too high. But there goes what a friend told me once. The big problem in the <3k~ bracket is that they never build BKB.
