Generally, when you cut waves you're trying to put pressure on that side of the map. When you're talking about during the laning phase, you cut backdoor when you generally know that the lane has very little kill potential (eg. spectre/alch dual lane with a support). Those carries will rarely help their support pressure you. I rarely see Axe backdoor alone during the laning phase unless you know their supports have tp-ed somewhere else in the map.
Examples of weak lanes:
Alch/Spec/PA/AM/Naga + defensive support with little burst/lockdown
Mmmm mostly I agree but at higher levels axe needs to creep skip when the core matchup is bad.
For example, if Axe is against Rubick and Ursa 2v1, Axe will probably die a lot if he tries to lane normally. Ursa has fury swipes and rubick has lift.
However if Axe creep skips, he can use spin to trade hp to get creeps. Rubick will not be able to stop him solo and ursa will be too busy hitting creeps to come help, since he can’t waveclear.
Axe will get lvl 2 against Rubick 1 and then suddenly rubick lost. Axe can battle hunger rubick and run at him with creeps chasing to threaten with spin.
Then Axe is winning lane because it’s 2v1 freefarm.
No one mentioned Monkey King?
Ursa has very low base dmg, making it hard for him to last hit under tower. So he will try to kill you imo. But honestly if you have your support on lane, I think you lose only to Monkey + Wd lane or Wyvern, nothing more.
Rubick is not a good example because he is the weakest support you can face on a lane with Ursa.
If you have aggresive pos 4 like ench or sky you can even win that lane or drew, what for offlane counts as win as well.
Ursa is much easier to deal with than mk, especially if he has rubick on lane mentioned above. Just buy more regen and spam hunger on rubick.
Its good to cut the wave vs heros that have low base dmg and will miss a lot of cs like gyro. You dont want to cut the wave vs lifestealer because he will get 100% creeps from laning stage.

Hey guys, I have noticed many Axe players in pub games are cutting the waves, may I know WHEN is good for Axe to do it and when is good to fight on the lane ? Thx.
