Idk why I got matched with all that ancient, all of them was at last ancient 2 incl the enemy.

Medal just shows the highest mmr they have ever been, not their current. Unless you're divine 5

It might be his party mmr being really high, I recently do get a lot of ancients as well, they are actually 3ks in disguise

Medals aren't accurate. I got promoted to Ancient 1 despite dropping from 4.3k to flat 4k and my party mmr is 2.4k. A friend of mine got promoted to Ancient 4 from Ancient 0 and his mmr is 4.3k ???

while the skill and knowledge will be higher in ancient it doesnt say anything about behaviour.
when some dude goes into a game and wants to play a specific hero, then hes gonna do it. his medal does not have any influence in that.

i can confirm, at least when i queue solo unranked and get ancient players in my game, that these dudes tend to be more toxic and draft unreasonable. ranked is fine tho.

You know what the problem is? You glorify the medals too much, you think when you get certain medal it will make you into some Dota demigod or something, but it wont, i thought so too until i have made account in crusader bracket and i have main in legend bracket, also i have friends who are divine 3 and ancient 4, so i have expirience the very high skill bracket too.

Honestly i havent seen some diference that made me go "WOOOW LOOK AT THAT" diference is just a niche, there are absolute dogshit players and good players in all brackets from Guardian to Divine, all smurfs will confirm this, honest ones at least!

Also we all have days when we play like pr0s and days when we can barely last hit that creep, key to climbing is recognize those days and utilize them, people who say they didnt had a random loosing streak that costed them 200-300 MMR that took them month to recover are liars!

So bottom line: Behind every medal is just a person, who either has bad day or good day. :)
