I saw a guy on a huge winstreak that was like 5.2k and was still divine 0
where as I got divine 1 at 5200 and now divine 2 at 5300

I agree. I'm currently at 4240 something solo mmr and I should be a Ancient [0] but alas, I'm still Legend [5] and I don't know how many wins I need before I get promoted.
I think they also look at your party mmr. My party mmr is around 3300 so maybe that's why.

you wont lose your medal even if you go down to 1k MMR. medal is the highest achievement in every season. read dota updates it is explain there. party mmr will only give up to legend if i remember correctly. higher than that requires your solo mmr.

To obtain/ lose stars is it every game? Or ever 2 or 3 games?

Just curious. I am legend right now but am curious of how much of a grind it would be to get to the next “badge”
