It wasn't a question, it was just a remark on my amusement with the fact that it's the next hot thing after being ignored for years.
Solar crest was like that, sange and yasha was, so was blade mail. Some games your entire team buys blinks.
I am pretty sure everyone was buying solar crest when it was introduced because it was OP as fuck actually, then it got nerfed a bit.
What about Rod of Atos?
Almost nobody in 3k buy Rod of Atos against AM and they complain how it's difficult to catch him when I have no problem disabling him at all, I had to buy atos first and lead the team to the jungle and kill AM 2-3 times to make other spellcaster hero take a hint of how good this shit actually are.
Edit: Shit, My comment are odd one here.
'Can't be dispelled' is a really big buff on the item. Imagine making bkb totally useless on an enemy carry
I even buy halberd on CK now instead of manta in many games. before it was situational when i had an Lc/sven enemy.
now its so cheap and forces enemy cores to get bkb at minute 20 so why not, stats are also decent.
its strange i used to buy solar a lot also when i spammed visage, i bought halberd when i played undying a lot and roa while spamming AA with my meepo friend.
all before they got buffed
someone reminded me to go halberd yesterday and we won this shit easily after disarming the enemy sven all the time
Yeah but then everyone stopped buying solar crest for a while and then it got super popular again like around ti6 til a few months ago when it got nerfed a bunch more and they changed the miss chance to accuracy on the debuff.
Diffusal was kind of like that too. Remember back in the day only illusion heroes and riki built diffusal? Like riki, spectre, pl. That was about it. Then something happened and everyone and their mom built it for cheap agility. Jug, TB, even like sniper and clinkz. Oh and the UAM was removed, that probably had a lot to do with it too.

How Halberd has always been that dogshit item thats kinda good sometimes but nobody gets it, and now everyone buys it.
