Keep that mindset up man. Dota is a psych game as much as it is a strategy game. If you go into a match with a shitty mindset where every teammate is bad, you're halfway into losing the game
Great page of green btw
Don't go serious on dota. Also the lower your mmr is (even hidden mmr), the more commends you get. Because low skilled players see simple things as something extraordinary
Tell me Bob how many commends do you have. Don't count the ones where you say "swap commend ty"
But I see alot of other trenches complaining, i simply don't understand why, almost all the people are people having fun
I'm also not perfect, I just had a shitty game with pudka, my performancess was on par than usual, I feeded quiet a bit, I admit it, I'm doing mistakes as well
But I didn't get flamed, I said I was sorry and I don't know why I played worst than usual, and people were fine with it, they said everyone has bad days, and we kept playing, we won (by me getting carried)
Very New players 0-1k are generally less toxic and communicate less. No one knows what's going on.
2k is where some frustration starts to set in because you have a mix of players who have played awhile and start to understand the game, but gameplay and coordination is still very poor. Still generally not very toxic at all as a lot of ppl can just climb here if they are good enough.
Real toxicity starts to set in around 4K mmr. It's 4K syndrome. Ppl there have played tons of games and understand Dota well (or think they do). Frustration is high.
And I never ask for commends, that a very incompetent attitude imo, I give alot of commends for anyone who was good teammate and I had a blast with, NEVER ASKED
Ignore those retards
Pretty much every single person I met who complain "OMG TOXIC TEAM NO TEAMWORK ASDASDASD" are as bad as the people they complain about
I queued with Adarsh and the avg was 1.3k MMR and I played mid Rubick and legit had fun lmao
People are more laid back there I guess
To be honest most people who genuinely just started playing the game are chill and very fun to play with
I am not a fan at the quirky playstyles, I understand that if there is a place to play a mid clock is in the trench, but personally i prefer to be a babysitter with clock, I'm more saying that just playing is not bad, it's usually very fun, actually the most fun is to try playing a higher level strat that you usually don't see in the trench, such as a strong tri lane, being a try hard-like and feel like you are in a pro game, it's fun to pretend
they have dunning kruger, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunning%E2%80%93Kruger_effect
a really common cognitive bias
As described by David Dunning and Justin Kruger, the cognitive bias of illusory superiority results from an internal illusion in people of low ability and from an external misperception in people of high ability; that is, "the miscalibration of the incompetent stems from an error about the self, whereas the miscalibration of the highly competent stems from an error about others." Hence the corollary to the Dunning–Kruger effect indicates that persons of high-ability tend to underestimate their relative competence and erroneously presume that tasks that are easy for them to perform also are easy for other people to perform.
tl,dr they can't accept/realize that they're bad so they blame it on anything else
But I AM bad, I also alot of times feed and lose the game, I'm not paparazzi, and even paparazzi lose games
Every game I lose I download the Replay and try to find my mistakes to learn for next games
Watching your own replay won't help you that much tbh
You'll end up blindly speculating for solutions or not even notice your mistakes unless it's super obvious
Go analyze high mmr/official gameplay instead
but that's the difference, you know that you're bad and you know why you're bad. you're actively trying to fix that mistake, meanwhile the majority of the community who has dunning kurger is too ignorant to see their mistakes so they blame teammates for their own shit.
it stems from basic defense mechanisms https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defence_mechanisms
meaning, they look for ways to turn the pain of failure away from themselves
easiest way would be venting out on others and just saying that it's not them but their teammates.
But that what my post about, in having a hard time FINDING those people, about 80%(of course I'm throwing numbers out of my sheer feel, no statistics given) I play with and against are nice not-too-good-at-dota players that try to get better and have fun, I see alot of posts people hating the trench and saying everyone lose the game for them, but seeing such people in-game is very rare
because you only have 100 matches, you'll see this side of dota once it starts getting competitive, aka when you get into ranked which should be in the next 50 or so matches.
so far you're matched with other complete newbies who have no idea what to do, same as you.
so they don't have any inherit need to flame as they don't know what a mistake is, nor why they're bad.
I don't think I'm complete newbe, i watch alot of pro games, and i think my general knowledgeable of the game is abit above the average of people with my amount of games, i don't want to get cocky but I think that one of my better sides, that why I love supporting, reading the map is one of my better strengths
Also being the carry is no fun, that doing the dirty job having to sit down and last hit after last hit without destroying the other carries life in the early game, where the fun in that?
this game is annoyingly long, you'll be a complete newbie for the first 500-1000 games(depends on how fast you learn)
I know it long, but i said that I think that generally my game count give false impression of my knowledge, again I think a game knowledge is one of my better strengths
Also I'm rarely playing with new players, most of the players i get queued with (I have no friends :( ) have 2000+ games ,so they are trench, not new
Try to hang out here often especially when there are good topics
You might find great insights, I improved at a decent pace ever since I joined here
You dont play as frequently as most dota players so there's not much to analyse in your stats. Theye average or below avg from the rest of the players in the same match.
To dotabuff or the forum?
I'm always checking the blog here and look at games and players, the forum I'm nit checking too often, sometimes giving a look at, but the blog I check every day
The forum ofc the blogs are meh
https://www.dotabuff.com/players/321572171 example of fast improvement
COOKIE REPLIED TO ME OMG
and yes as I said I'm not perfect, I'm trying my best
Also my gpm mostly impacted from the fact that I hate having a dark map, I always buy wards. And I roam quite alot (yes, sometimes it's better just farm, i can improve on balancing them, but generally I prefer being aggressive, it is boring to lane), so it is definitely impact my GPM
If you wanna get good at dota then don't listen to this forum
Keep doing your analysis, it's way smarter than listening to the stupiditiy spewed here.
And besides, thats how i got my mmr. If you're smart, and do good analysis, you'll get 5k+ in your first year.
well fuck them IT IS FULL OF SHIT DUMB IDIOT NOOB PLAYERS WHO DOESN'T PAY ATTENTION AND ALWAYS FINDS GREED AND WHAT IS IMPORTANT *WHICH THEY THINK SHIT PUSHES TOWER HE IS ALONE DOESNT HAVE ANY DAMAGE* WHEN THEY PLAY DOTA 2. bunch of shitty fucktards.
I made the post not really to get advices, but to more giving opinion of the "horror" called the trench tier
But I'm always happy to get replies from the one and only cookie 😄
Diox can you PLEASE formulate a single sentence that is understandable by any other human being other than yourself.
Tl;dr learn english!!!
play in australia or korea server (japan) instead.
russia is good but they act like the opposite of what you expect (good players but INSANELY MAD can't learn to have a proper non angry brain or a focusing on a different topic *farm kills than push or push than enjoy and also full of tryhard*.) but you can't change everything you want so let it go.

Diox can you PLEASE formulate a single sentence that is understandable by any other human being other than yourself.
Tl;dr learn english!!!
you don't even understand proper grammar.
btw we already are aware but not scared. we don't care we just deal with it *also the forum community is still toxic, they will try to offend you but I already did something (report) so they won't do this to new people*.
Nah, most of the russian are good people
Russian attitude in general is kinda of "brotherhood", they prefer seeing how one played bad and can improve rather then how he played good, which is generally a great attitude for competitions
But I have no problem with being with Russians, I have problems with people not communicating, they can be Russians, but they can also be German , Israeli, Latvian, Spanish and anything else
I did say their good. their probably toxic to aliens like SE Asia or EU or just insulting one another if something is bad or wrong like your team dying thinking its intetional feeding, trash talking then everyone trash talks and also if the enemy team is insulting or probably other russians doesn't want assholes and starts to never ever play dota 2 again... and then they move to russia and play at eu server.
Russian being a Russian not make a Russian more toxic compared to non Russian. From my 92 game's I find this a false stereotypes
I always enjoying discussing my teammates on one's play, as long as it isn't a trash talk and flaming (usually that's not)
Ok :)
Also you flamed diox for his grammar, I don't think it's by far worse than mine :/
Some people doesn't speak English natively, why don't you flame my grammar?
Because I don't have perfect grammar nor am I a native speaker, I speak multiple languages.
And besides, whatever you say is understandable even with those small mistakes, Diox on the other hand...
Well he's Diox, you need to be a cryptographer to understand him properly.

Hey everybody, I don't have too many games under my belt in dota, i still didn't calibrate and only normal skill, so in short, I'm in the trench
You can check my dotabuff, I'm not shamed of it, I'm learning and trying to improve
I noticed alot of people in reddit and here hating on alot of the trench, saying it is full of toxic narrow sighted people that flames ajd losing the games
But i don't notice that, yea there are a lot of players that doesn't totally get the game, build weird stuff and all
But it's ALL the players, both you and the second team, you didn't lose because the rest ofnthe team are losers, it's because all of you 5 failed to outplay the other players, together
And the toxic environment, I find people way over exaggerating about it, about 75% of the players are simply casuals that wanna have a bad time. About every second game i get a team that cooperate with me, teamwork maybe not perfect, but definitely exist in the trench
Once in few games it is really annoying to get a team that refuse to communicate, but that not too commonly, honestly while i am really loving dota and want to get serious with it, I'm not the best at it, but I'm having a blast playing, even losing, alot of my loses its from being outplayed and learning for the next games, and generally just taking a more chill tone with my teammates, having a blast losing :)
Also people really appreciate a teammate, I have 92 games and 126 commends, for me it is sayinh that people enjoy play with me, and that really makes my day
