There needs to be some sort of prerequisite, like a 50 match minimum before you're allowed to match up with better players. There are enough smurfs out there for them to be matched up together.
3500 is now the max calibration but that can't stop making smurfs playing at a higher hidden MMR.
Only way to go about it is to actually play Ranked.

because one thing he knows, you might not know.
example im 5.5 because im good at offlane, while example kyubashi is there because he's good at support, and so forth.
but overall both of you have the same effective mmr
The guy played like 12 matches at the time and is sitting at a 35% winrate right now. This is a matchmaking problem.
