he can transform into a courrier ( and other things too ... ) and go to the enemy base without getting touched by the towers or fountain ,
easy gem recovery.
You more or less came to the same conclusion everyone else has come to.
He is easily countered by stun, silence and if you tango, cut or quell a tree, you basically hit him with almost a max mirana arrow
If think Linkens would be standard build since he is made of paper and would certainly help with point-disables like orchid, hex, scythe or svens hammer.
Blink/crush tho and he's dead
Land arrow: dead
Brood kites him thru the trees and gets off an orchid/bloodthorn: dead
Tango or quell his tree with another hero around: dead
Go tank and blademail: dead
Blink/duel: dead
He's probably countered by 2/3 of the heros in the pool without too big of an adjustment from their normal item build
Ground targetted damaging spells breaks his disguise, right?
His counters (not exactly direct counters but whatever)
Treebreakers
Nukers (he's squishy)
Long ass disables
Global damaging spells
Flying vision
DoT items or spells (he's not cancer if he doesn't dangle around the trees in the first place)

Not a big deal honestly, and couriers are not revealed much, so it will be pretty obvious when it happens to be MK.
didn't read
Noted.

I figured. I guess people just like to complain about how broken he is and do not adapt.
What about Phoenix's talents? What are they? I am honestly super excited to play Dota since everything is so new. In ranked, I hope I do not get MK-picker in my team since the global win rate is low.

He has some pretty direct counters. I play a lot of Phoenix now and he works wonders. I want to do more Beastmaster, but I am not the best BM, his axes seem to be a nice tool.
global winrate means nothing
especially for new heroes
I know that, but it can help with judgement calls.
I trust my team 100% before the game starts, unless someone picks pa/am. But now I have no clue since the game is practically brand new...ish.
TA also wrecks him. Her refraction completely counters his crit and bonus damage and her traps give vision.
No mk actually as more range than ta lvl 1 lol. She isnt bad, but she can be played around, especially cuz his ulti breaks refraction easily.
TA gives MK free jingo charges for him to regen off from creeps because her range is so low and hitting spill damage on melee heroes is harder

good old days of Arc Warden introduction where he had about 35% winrate and was at his most broken
hes easily to counter as what above said, ppl just still hasnt realize his 3rd is almost the same as ursa swipes. some tips if u didnt have tree breaker heroes, quel might help since u can saw him if he jump from tree to tree and cut it before the jump off cd, but good mk will use his 2nd asap
I countered him a few times in the laning stage by stunning him forever by a 200 gold item
that being said it is insanely fun to stun your own MK by cutting a tree he's standing on
ez reports maybe but still so fun
Win rate gives u an idea how strong the hero is at that point in time given current understanding. Ppl still haven't figured out how to deal with it. Doesn't mean it's broken.
Broken hero with shit win rate. Because ppl haven't figured out how to play him optimally. Also consider the changes to other heroes affects whether a hero is strong or weak, and not whether he was nerfed or not. Consider how after nerFS, OD went from toilet hero to OP once again because of what happened to other heroes.
Just give it time
the hero's insanely OP whatever you might think about him, he is completly out of balance with other heroes, especially in the early game, he can still massacre people with zero items, valve made him OP on purpose instead of having him in a weird place
after all, it's easier to balance shit if you know it is OP beforehand, so you can proceed with nerfs, if you make it so the hero is so-so it's hard to balance because it's hard to figure out whether you need to buff or nerf him, right now it's obvious he's going to be hit by a nerf stick on every single one of his abilities
Mk gets fisted by batrider, firefly into blink on him to stun for 4 seconds, the whole time building napalm and standing in fire, then ulti for like 8 ish seconds of disable. Gee gee.

I have yet to play Dota since yesterday morning around 11a Pacific Time, but I updated my game this morning before work, and finally got a chance to read his skills.
I see a lot people thinking he is OP.
I have no clue about talents yet since dbuff does not seem to have that (not much time for me to check for talents either, at work currently on my meal)
I read his skills, and his Q (Truestrike PhysDmg Nuke) does not say it goes through bkb, but does it grant 100% chance for 200% Crit? That I find a bit broken, but blademail would be nice to test.
His treehop skill seems to be the spammable skill, or a skill he relies on to help in fights/ganks.
What I believe counters him are tree cutting heroes such as Timbersaw, and NP since if you happen to cut a tree Monkey King is on, he falls and gets stunned for 4 seconds. Seems very easy to pull off, and just enough time to destroy him with stun-stacks too.
Me, I love my bird Phoenix. Can someone tell me its (no gender identity) Talents? Not home yet. But his Q/R breaks trees, and his W/E give vision. Phoenix seems like the perfect counter, so I will test some games out and probably spam ranked Phoenix (after some bot/unranked games) to report back here. I am confident with Phoenix since I have a high win rate with me bird Moltres.
What do you guys think about my hypothesis?
And what counters may you have? I am not too concerned since it looks like MK has a 46% win rate across all brackets.
