No upper bracket, at first I thought maybe it was to make all the matches more exciting but now I think it's just about time. They're doing the main event in 4 days vs 6 for manila.

Lol idk. I'm just laughing at any newbee or wings compendium predictions. Holy shit sccc GOD. Wow shadow is NOT HUMAN.

so gaben can save more money for himself.
if he makes lower bracket just as usual, that means more days => more food for player => more cost for production

right that's what I was thinking, it's gotta be super expensive to rent an entire stadium for 6 days and it's relatively empty too. This is also the first major held in the us so maybe boston is too expensive but I would've thought frankfurt would be costly too.

I mean eg vs wings seemed like a tossup and the winner would be another coin flip vs vp imo. Whoever comes out of those first two rounds I think will win with dc coming in second. Dc has looked super strong but 4 of their six wins are vs probably the worst two tournament teams in warrior gaming and faceless, despite wg knocking out col.

In the old days there were only a handful of competitive teams so you needed to do the double elimination/round robin kind of thing to prevent a tournament being over in an afternoon. With the larger number of decent teams the tournaments start to take too long.

Besides, single elimination is so much more exciting. Makes every series worth watching. Group games tend to be pretty repetitive seeing as everyone keeps their pocket strats for elimination games.

I'd actually like it if each major had a different format. Makes them all more unique and forces teams to adapt to the playstyle of different tournaments. In a tournament like this for example a team that's relying on only one major pocket strat will be less likely to win multiple rounds than a team with multiple pocket strats.

Got to say group stages in previous tournaments tended to get a bit stale with a hero pool of maybe 20 or so. At least until it reached the point where teams had to win to stay in.

But most sports have this same format right? It makes more sense tbh. Less games are Gud too I guess
