@perfectionist thats great bro, that was too far range well done. If you have time you can share your strategy. I just heard that whenever you got into vhs bracket all you have to do is to maintain that bracket and avoid deaths. Tping to help ganked ally also helps.

@OASIS just so you know im being sarcastic haha but yea i used to be 2.5k last year and thought about quitting since i was so fucking bad, so i just gave it my all and gave it my all to see if i could get out of the trench, after a few months i found myself stuck in a new trench which is 3k and i knew at that point im pretty sure im better than the trash there so i confidently made a smurf to see where would i end up in, calibrated at 4.2 this account and i made another smurf just to make sure and i got 4.4 on another smurf. Don't ruin people's games, just climb ur mmr. Trust me the skill gap is big (i played on my friend's account). The numbers doesnt mean anything if ur gameplay isnt improving.
@perfectionist ill watch that later. My story is on year 2013 I calibrated at 2400 and my solo mmr now is 2300. I made a smurf a month ago got 2700 without any idea or any smurf guide i just play every matches the way i play my main account. This time i planned to make a smurf again with a different strategy ingame for the 4k goal. So I need some advices. :D
@scrublord true mate, they should not blame their team mates every single time they lose they must focus on what they did the entire game and to improve next games
@korosensei mmr calibration is not a big thing to get a high mmr. The big thing is get into vhs bracket from your first match til your calibration. If your first match is in normal bracket and you got high kills and hero dmg then ur next game will go to high skill bracket stil do good on hs bracket to get to vhs.
Honestly alot of my friends ask me that as well but honestly i don't care how calibration works i play to own scrubs who i feel don't belong in the tier im playing in, if you want to escape your tier and if you think you are ready then make a smurf and go calibrate if not please do us all a favor and not make a smurf cause you're wasting everyone elses time and their pinned on hopes and expectations of your performance, now what makes you think you're ready to make a smurf to escape from normal skilled bracket? examples:
1) you have better judgement in games and im not talking about just stuff like outplaying enemies, better item choices and mechanical skills also play a big role
2) you actually have a feeling like what im feeling right now when i play normal skilled bracket= eating delicious scrubs.
3) you actually feel confident and comfortable in the tier you are trying to escape.
People usually say pick mid or whatever in normal skilled bracket to win but honestly if you're skilled enough you can literally pick anything and carry the fuck out of normal skilled lol, and having PMA is a lie tbh. I myself think if my team is giving some bullshit decisions like force rs and force clashes id just tell them not to , if they talk back rudely id just mute them all, win the game then flame the fuck out of them just to prove im better lol for example this game: http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/2639788418 that drow was so fucking annoying i muted him, as you can see the enemy has advantages the entire game but we still won. why? cause they got outplayed.

unless youre 50%+ winrate in 2300-2400 mmr range you'll never get to 3k let alone 4k even if you calibrate one thousand accounts
the only way for you to do this is if you just suck it up and try to actually git gud

And by the way I am not that player who doesnt pick support hero if 4 players had already picked carry. I have a high versatility and I know how to support. And by the way most of my game is a party matchmaking.
Yeah, I don't think you belong in 4k, or even 3k, especially with that win rate. Just play on that account, you're probably where you belong.

My point here is to get into 4k not to get down to 1k, dont be so pessimistic guys. As what i have said in this thread a lot of 2k made it to 4k. And a 2k player is an average player. Try to search that thread if you are optimistic.
@doubledose i know, i just want to get to vhs and play support, I never dreamed to play carry role in vhs bracket. I know my limit and im a support player everytime we play lobby matches with friends. Im good in support heroes.

If your plan is to calibrate at 4k and play support exclusively from there, let me tell you why it's a bad idea.
The gap between a 2k and 4k player is too huge. The game knowledge, the reflexes, the decision making. Everything.
Support decides the flow of a game early on. Just because you picked a support hero doesnt mean that you can actually support.
I have friends who can carry a 4k game, but when it comes to supporting they are dogshit.
It is actually very hard to find a good support below the 5k range. That's why if you can truly support, you can always climb.
If you think your support is 4k material, think again.
No decent support at 4k would buy a bm on jakiro. Lul

I've played for like 3-4 smurfs and all my smurfs were calibrated around 3.8 -4k . My main is 3.5 and my highest peek mmr on that acc is 3.7. I couldn't make it any higher -_-
@bat.blind fyi that bm was bought too late when our ancient was about to break. And look at that PA carry his solo is 3600 and what have he done? Nothing! The 3 carries are shit they have no map awareness eventhough there are wards. Again i bought the bm very late. Your judgement doesnt help, i suggest watch the actual match first b4 you judge a build.
Support is way harder to play imo. A good support can have their own impact in the game and be really annoying, a bad support well, ez gold for enemy

My MMR on my main account had ups and downs. I was as low as 3.3k and as high as 4.4k.
Last 5 months I was never below 3.5k, and my highest was almost 4.4k(4359). Now I'm 3.6k and I'm mostly comfortable playing in high 3k and low 4k mmr(4000-4100)
I calibrated my first smurf 4.5k, and this one 4.3k(but I was feeding, I wanted to see if I could still get a 4k, and I did)
So it's possible for high 3k/low 4k to calibrate 300-400 points above real MMR, but not for a 2k to calibrate 4k.
Cookies play I'd 2k into 4k when calibrated . We all need banned this cookies . Help people 2k calibrated get 4k .
I got from 2.7 to 3.9k with smurfing in an interesting way. Main account was 2.7, I created a smurf and calibrated at 3.6k. The skill there was too hard for me, but I kept playing and learning. Eventually I dropped my smurf from 3.6k to 3.1k and got so salty, I went back to my main account. With the skills learned through smurfing I raised my main account from 2.7k to 3.9k in 7 weeks
since this forum is literally 99% people asking what their calibration mmr is, i'm here to put my theory up and disprove others.
my theory is simple: your skill determines the mmr you calibrate in.
and i emphasis on "your skill", meaning if this is correct if you were to give me unranked NS(1-3k) accs i would be able to inflate their calibration to VHS (7.7k+)
