Im 28 and I study neuroscience.
The difference between 25 and 35 in reaction time is not as much as people think.
First one must understand that before 25 its bad.
Then it gets worse but in a very slow rate. Often with gamers not even noticable.

Yeah, that's largely a myth. I mean, not if you're really old I suppose, but the primary reason younger people are often better is simply that it takes a lot of time to get really good, and when you're older you have more responsibilities and commitments. Look at the profiles of some of the best players. Many play almost all day every day.

Obviously this is a generalization of a trend, not a rule, but I suspect if more people in their 30s dedicated their lives to Dota, they'd be even better just because of better rationalization and control of their emotions and things like that. Like I say, that's not a rule, some kids are more mature than some people many times their age, but it's definitely a trend.

If you moved back in with your parents or got on the government cheese and dedicated your life to Dota, you could probably be as good as anyone. It's your job, family, and other adult responsibilities that are holding you back, not your age.

I'm 32. I have a 4 year old and my second's due in two weeks. So no more dota for me!

My 4 year old has a leapfrog thingy and loves playing on that, and then playing crap on our phones (we don't have tablets) and can work the tv and stuff. Controllers and keyboards are beyond her though, I tried showing her how to play mario kart on wii but she just goes backwards and then she gets mad and says you drive and I'll watch. She sometimes pretends to drive with a controller unplugged. Then I got her some stupid teddy floppy ear games on steam for like 50 cents to teach her to use a mouse but she doesn't like that much either and makes me play the game and she watches. She is addicted to tv and movies. She talked at a very young age and I think that's why she likes tv so much cus she understands it a lot more than other kids her age. She could sit through entire movies at the theater at like 8 months.
