When Should I Calibrate? in General Discussion
HaylingZar

Hi guys. I've been playing DOTA for a couple years now, and with over 1500 games I feel fairly experienced. My solo games are all high or very high skill and my party games are all normal skill. I want to play ranked but I always hear about the "trench" - be it 1k, 2k, 3k or 4k people complain that it's impossible to raise MMR. As a result, I am apprehensive to ranking for fear of being stuck in a low ranking. Am I right to have put it off so long, or should I bite the bullet and do my calibration games?

I'll do it then. Not really sure who to play - there aren't any heroes or roles I'm particularly good at.

I didn't get it. You have played 46 ranked games in total, and you have played ranked matches in past 30 days as well. Are you telling us that you are not calibrated yet?

                      Probably only party ranked

you're right at least 22 of them are party ranked http://i.imgur.com/f2NJbvV.png

Just to clear things up, I've played party ranked, calibrated as soon as I could and got a disgusting 1k. Im sure I could double or triple that if I played party ranked regularly though, but my friends generally prefer pubs.
