the former are kinda awful just like any political meme that doesnt mock all involved parties, the latter didnt get old yet and theyre not created to be memes in the first place(unlike le tfw autism kid school shooting 9/11 incest xD and all the current template memes) so they dont get old quite as fast
really though at this point the internet is so oversaturated with memes that the creation of a new format doesnt cut it anymore(especially since ppl are gradually running out of ideas) and all the new memes getting stale in a week tops(and usually not even being "good" in the firt place) is a concequence of that
the only way contemporary memes can be good is through more innovation in the very structure itself(until those inevitable get old as well). surreal memes did that with changing success but now decayed as well
the only memes that arent fucking garbage atm are either exotic ones or the ones that prey on human stupidity on the internet
