if it worked, then its good, right? i usually see other builds, but it doesnt mean ur one is bad.
Undying has ALWAYS been one of my best heroes in Dota2 (not Dota1). And I almost never do the standard build. Perhaps I did buy arcane boots once or twice ever.
Well, in the case of Undying... the standard build is boring and not as good as this one. It is for fun. Not to impress people.
I have also tried early orb of venom, urn of shadow, and tranquilty boots [edit from phase to tranq]. That is also good. At least on an aggro lane. Then I more or less play him like I would play Axe on an aggro lane.
What is the "standard" build, and why is it not as good as yours? All the items you listed are extremely common on Undying, and most people who play undying build the majority of these with some left as game dependent.
Urn = Commonly used in the place of Mekanism.
Atos = Again, stacks with tombstone/Ult so pretty commonly seen on snowballing undyings.
Vlads = Among the more common items, as you're team fighting a lot and it boosts the zombies.
Euls = Undying needs to stack STR before he can withstand damage so euls takes him out long enough to let the decay/tomb do work.
When I say standard build I mean the recommended items and the items people tell me in-game that I should buy.
I have never watched a pro-game with Undying. So TBH I dont know what the standard build is. And I have never seen anyone buying Rod of Atos on Undying except me.
But once again. I never watch the pro-games. Almost never.
So when I said the standard build I was thinking about items like these:
Arcane bots
Pipe
Meka
Vanguard/Crimson
Etc.
Basically some kind of hybrid between support and tank. That is what I usually have seen people in the 3k-3,5k racket buying and during the year beast games as well. It was like a standard pick during the year beast games.
I think Atos is amazing on Undying and should be gotten whenever you can justify it. 350 health, 35 int for 3200 gold...the slow is just icing on the cake IMO.
Yes Atos is extremly good on UD. There are not many more examples of items and heroes that synergises that well. And that range on the Atos slow - it really blew me away tonight. Seem like an entire screen. Is that new?
I also like Atos on Silencer and Gyro
Tried it on Riki but Skade much better for him.
Atos might work on Lifestealer.
Riki+Diffusal is another example of combination like UD+Atos
BTW I have tried Diffusal on Bounty and I did like it. But not sure how good it is.
Yes I agree about Enchantress. I like to play her but I really think see need to be reworked so she can be played in pubs. Now she is to weak and her minions die to fast due to the timer. She shoul have them permanently like Chen.

The item order can always be discussed but overall, I think this build is very good during most games. It gives good stats and good actives and very much flexibility. Good early play, and good play in late game.
This order, or something like this:
1. mango, tango, shield, branch
2. Void stone
3. RoB
3.5 Headdress
4. Rod of Atos
5. Vlad
6. Boots of travel
7. Blade mail
8. Eul
9. Skadi (didnt have time to complete since game ended at min 27)
