some games in normal skill bracket are not defined as Normal Skill, there is just an empty space where skill bracket info should be. therefore, a certain ratio of your games just does not belong to any bracket.

so, my dotabuff says i have 1000 games in normal skill bracket, 500 in high skill bracket and 50 in very high skill bracket. but my total number of games exceeds 2000. can someone explain
