Hidden pool is so retarded
You can tell the second you're in it too, you get major lane-beef in the pick screen, and people crying on mic like 30 seconds into the match
Perhaps it's the other way around: If you are insecure enough to call people retards over the internet, you will have hard time IRL.
Flame ruins game, takes away focus from gameplay and solving current situation in DotA.
You know it's not like that. You KNOW you didn't get in there because you called someone a retard once. It's a lot more than that, and it's not about him not being able to take flames, but you not being able to not flame.
First things first, flaming loses games. It demoralizes your team and makes you play bad. Second, you don't enjoy the game as much, since you'll be angry a lot more once you give in to the flaming. Third, flaming generates flaming, which means that you being an asshole will create more assholes.
I could write more, but i feel as if i'm not going to make up your mind, so won't waste my time.
The sort of people who complain about "shadow pool" are the kind of people who deserve to be put in one
It's a shame that no such thing exists, you just suck
Ok retard, enjoy shitpool for days. You fucking spazmong. Kappa
But yeah, what bastian says, if everyone is flaming caused by one guy, you're probably missing every oportunity you have to turn a game around... It's less the words that are being said and more the detrimental effect flaming has on the teamplay and cooperation in the game and the chances of a turn around... hence, game ruining.

I have a strong hunch Valve wants to play the role of grade school yard duty, and I'm probably not the only one.
I mean, I don't have a problem with penalizing game ruiners (though the term itself is rather vague and ill-defined, I'd consider someone who last hits terribly while instalocking a carry to be a game ruiner, but then that would mean 30% of 5k players and 90% of 4ks I get in my matches are game ruiners), but dissuading flaming?
If someone is butthurt that they aren't recognized as a snowflake but as a trashcan, then may I suggest playing with Barbie dolls instead? I mean, how sad it is to police Internet speech when
a) none of it is directly threatening to the recipient
b) i'm sure if u get depressed/upset that someone called you a "retard" you're going to have a hard time IRL so it doesn't really make a difference in the long run (let's be real here)
