Should i finished my MMR Calibration ? in General Discussion
VANDERH

First of all hi! This is my first posting in the dotabuff forum, so forgive me if i made a mistake, and pls tell me what did i do wrong. Let's get to the topic!

I've been playing Dota 2 for quite some time. First account i made is a mess (i learned from literally zero, feed a lot, etc.) and i RUSHED MMR Calibration and got pretty bad rating.

Now i have made a new account and already reached lvl. 13. I already played 2 MMR Calibration matches. Learning from experience however, i stop calibrating my mmr and researched a lot so i don't get shitty mmr again :(

Anyway i found online that ranked mmr is affected by unranked match win rate and looking at my - not so great - win rate

SHOULD I PLAY MORE OR JUST CONTINUE PLAY UNRANKED ? AND IF YOU SUGGESTED TO CONTINUE PLAY UNRANKED, HOW MANY MATCH SHOULD I PLAY BEFORE I CALIBRATE MY MMR AGAIN ?

That's what i'm asking, and pls if there's anyone that RUSHED mmr calibration and got rating more than 3k, PLS TELL ME WHAT DID YOU DO ? :) I don't expect your way will be good on me but more information should've help.

Btw, this is my account :

And if you have the sincerity to look at it, which i thank you for, what mmr rating i belong to ? And what should i do to be better.

Thank you again for all your help.

And can any1 tell me how do you sort the general discussion forum for newest so i can keep track of this discussion ? Ty

      jo~

its not affected by winrate, and once u start the calibration the next ranked games hidden mmr is based on ur current hidden ranked mmr and not ur unranked mmr.

        VANDERH

Does that mean i should just continue to calibrate my mmr ?

          ty for replying

well to be frank. MMR rating doesn't really mean anything. What you want to strive for is your own improvement in game. MMR will come slowly as you improve. Also, usually if you come here on dotabuff forums and ask for tip to increase mmr when you're low skill, you will usually get bashed. Since the most important thing in lower levels is overall general improvement. Just remember that there is no 'one set method' to get that particular mmr. There are so many factors that contribute to your mmr so just improve and yeah :)

              yea you should.
or rather, there are no upsides to playing your unranked with regards to your mmr.

Looks like i'll just finish this this calibration thing, get my result and improve from there.

Your Ranked MMR on calibration games is based of your Hidden mmr.
this doesnt mean that u must have 80% winrate to get a good mmr.
Player General Performance counts on ur hidden mmr.
and wins / losses doesnt even count on calibration games...
you will get same mmr if u win 10 and the same mmr if u lose all 10 games..
but yeah indeed if u win more games your " performance " will be better than the games u lose so count on that.

Btw as far as i can guess your mmr would be max 3k if u do well otherwise 2600-2700

                    Good luck
