Poop spots are so commonly used because of how powerful they are.
Ward placement is a situational thing. If you know your enemies are dewarding, you avoid common ward spots. When you have free reign and map control, poop spots give you further leverage. Defensive warding, aggressive warding, push warding, blablabla. You can't tell a person to use one specific style every single game.

Indeed, but people are warding this useless spot for vision instead of mid/upper jungle, like i would almost never ward there, its pointless for
defense and for aggression. There are way more superior and efficient warding spots.

What is a "Dennis" support? Is it similar to the D.E.N.N.I.S. system?
It's from hearthstone, where guy just plays his cards wrong.
eg. wasting wards, placing them just for the sake of it.

(actually me roleplaying a guy from a pub game)
See, this is a Total "Dennis", he's playing in high skill bracket warding all the poop there is. In this game he's on the radiant
side and he warded this poop, and some neutrals just outside of his base - why did he ward there? - you may ask yourself. Well I don't know, and you can be sure he doesn't know either.
All he knows is that he got arcane boots 1st, than forcestaff then around whatever min or before or whenever the fk, he was placing wards on poop cause he is a noob and doesn't know better - also got to 5k.
If you're going to support in HS bracket please learn where to ward and when.
Here is a half assed effort of some ward spots that are rarely dewarded and gives you vision on enemy movement.

Now why "push" - well its an aggressive warding that gives you vision of the enemy defensive position around the tower.
Some combination of these wards gives you good sense of overall position of enemy heroes, for example, dire tier2 + jungle, when
they split themselves to farm jungle you can gank midder with vision there.
Now whats important is that you learn the farming patterns and teamfight patterns of some heroes so its easy to predict where you need to ward, not just mid, anywhere. (except the poop spot)
This was not intended to be a guide, just a rant because if you're in a 5k bracket and you ward like dennis, well what the fk man.
