Because he is the best play-by-play caster.

He is pretty much a shoe in for TI4 finals.

Casting skills and playing skills are different, many pro players are horrible at camera control while great at giving insights.

In fact people such as Merlini have commended Tobi for having one of the best camera control amongst all the casters out there, better than even the players themselves.

Also he is one of the best shout casters.

For analyzing you have the analyst desk and co-casters for that, don't forget that the commentator has to cater to a crowd of average players who probably hover around 2-3k mmr.

I hate this guy, his voice is terrible, and he's so forced and over the top

Seems to be the opposite of forced to me. Plenty of caster fake emotions. Tobi is rather genuine.

I wasn't a very big fan of cappatalists casting until ESL. It was very enjoying listening to his cast and he has good hype and I do like his voice aswell.

Tobi is also one of my fav casters, aswell as LD.

Also... You don't need to be good at a game to be a good caster..

He doesn't need game sense since he's not making any analysis of the game, he does play by play commentary and let his co-caster analyze the game. While I don't like his cast in particular, he's one of the best. Who are you gonna put in his spot? Ayeese? That guy is fucking annoying.

dd+wisp=trash yes Capitalist is amazing and has good dota 2 knowlege he is not talking total non-game sense stuff into a game like Tobiwan or Sheever. Ayasee is even worse btw.

Tobi is probably the best regular caster. I'm always really happy to hear him over, say, Zyori or Lumi. He's funny, brings a lot of hype, and is very good at his play-by-play stuff.

I mean, I'd still sacrifice Tobi on an altar to Satan like a goat if it meant getting n0tail to go full-time caster, but that goes without saying.

I like ayesee he has that radio-style intonation. He has to be paired with a nerd who knows all the interactions and stuff tho

i like merlini the most... and tobi when he takes shit relaxed without much hype when not needed because i get annoyed (simple plays and stuff)

simple fact is that no one can play by play a 2 minute team fight like tobi.

Guy doesn't need to breath and catches everything that happens.

At the end of the day, that is most important.

Tbh I like tobi. Tobi + Lumi for me is a realy good caster combination.

Tobi is by far the worst camera control. Did you fall asleep on that era when he miss like 50 first blood that 6 month duration?

Tobi is bad. but if you think he is loud now. Go watch a replay from Ti2, your ears will Bleed. He was way more excited and over exaggerated every play back then.

He doesn't play the game, he doesn't understand the flow of the game, he won't be able to predict player movement or strategies unless it's glaringly obvious, all he can do is say what has already happened

Because people like him - simple as that.
