I think its probably smth like 80% without it and 20% with autoatack but don`t have really idea
why do you even care? you want to use it cause other players use it or cause its better for you?
I remember Envy saying on stream that Arteezy has (or at least had) autoattack on.
Autoattack does completely nothing bad and you can do so much more in mid lane with autoattack on.
It's like having high apm does nothing bad, but it can only help you sometimes
If you set your camera to their pov, you can sometimes notice they have auto attack on.
I think most of them have it on because they got used to it from wc3 and that having it on has more pros than cons to having it off.
The only reason you want it off is when you are hiding from enemy in the trees or cliff, for that matter you can spam s or bind a key to toggle between autoattacks
I always play with autoatack, but for example good thing is to turn it off if you have ilusions rune and go Roshan so you can tank with ilusions Rosh, with autoatack ilu will just instant die.
First @Stay_strong
You can do tank roshan with illusions anyway, doesnt matter if autoattack is on or off, you could do it in dota1 also. Just move (m) + leftclick on roshan with illus and they will tank.
Second
There are two different kinds of autoattack on/off thing. Both are set in options, so none is console command. Most pros use autoattack off, but autoattack after casting a spell is on. In fact only pro whos stream I watched that has autoattack totaly on is Dendi. Others have autoattack off, but must of them have autoattack after a spell on. (which is the best way imo)
^
just realised there are 2 of them
i set mine in autoexec a few months ago and never checked ever since
and I only use the auto attack after spell
The only shitty thing with "Auto attack [on] after spell" is when you have illusions in rosh pit and you want them to tank. You go to cast manta style and the illusions autoattack rosh. So you have to run back a little bit to give you time to select them to m+click. Same with any illusion hero like naga, tb.
most have it on it seem. It's easier to cancel attack coming from disruption or other disables than missing an auto-attack cuz u have your hero idle after being disabled.
You can use the command:
BindToggle F4 dota_player_units_auto_attack
to enable/disable autoattack in game by pressing F4 (or whatever key you chose).
I know for morphling and what not its helpful cause you can get a last hit while in waveform incase you forget. helps getting that needed last hit on the creep in a wave. But its bad when playing tinker or something cause if you blink into the trees and march of the machines he will autoattack the creep in lane and give vision of where you are.
I know but it was just scenarios thats I know autoattack to be a nuisance. I, because of my layout, actually don't have hold position mapped though.
most pro players have a button hotkeyed to turn auto attack on and off given their circumstances or their hero.
I keep auto off for some heroes like bristleback, but keep it on for other heroes.
add an auto-config line to hotkey a button to toggle it.
Auto attack is widely kept off, so they don't attack someone passing by when they are in fog of war, which would reveal themselves, then they get killed instead of aiming to kill someone.
It also depends on the hero, such as a hero who will afk farm the jungle with multiple units. An example being Meepo, PL, etc, albeit this doesn't mean it's always left on. It's generally left off until they move into the jungle, then they just pop open the options screen and tick the autoattack on, so the clones/illusions will autoattack. It's quite quick to do so as well, as long as you know where the button is, which isn't that hard.
So for the most part, it's left off, but there are some who leave it on, or toggle between it.

Someone knows like %vs% ? How many plays with autoatack and how many without it?
