It takes time and practice but is 100% doable, try perhaps not to overburden yourself with so much utility and make sure you have convenient hotkeys bound.
Most important item slots = easiest to access keyboard/mouse button
Lesser important either legacy or 1-4 on the keyboard
Personally I've used item hotkeys based on Inventory A+ for Warcraft III all my Dota life. Alt+QWE ASD, in a 3x2 rectangle, with each key corresponding to the respective item slot position. It's the most intuitive for me, and I put my most used items on Alt+Q. This might help out with managing item usage if you don't already use this method.
(although on Warcraft it was technically Alt+QW AS ZX because of the 2x3 layout instead of 3x2. Also I would often quit game while trying to use tangos when playing in lanshops).
For me supports job is to prioritize spells with the enemies if you are overwhelmed just make sure you use the most important abilities
^ Tinker kills me sometimes I just skip sheep so its simpler XD
I can do pretty much all the late game tinker combos, but the sheep+ethereal+Dagon+rearm is really fucking hard to do it fast. I prefer the rocket+shiva+blink+sheep+laser+rearm because 2 of them your can cast before blinking.and you have fucking massive mana pool.
Play a few games and don's buy / skill what you don't use. Arcanes aren't very important in team fight, but mek and wand are. If you can't use mek in time, better don't buy it and rush aghanim or something.
Basically what you might want to do is what some of the people suggested:
- Try focusing on a more simple hero with couple more passive abilities.
- Use your meka in team fights, wand when you are running away and try to survive.
- Bind your most used abilities on easily reachable keybinds
That's a basic guideline that ofc could not always work but you'll get used to supporting and you'll get the general idea.
Once you get more experienced you'll see that some of those things (if not all) become automatic
As a person who just started playing tinker, can confirm.
Specially since i have the same hotkey for blink dagon hex and ethereal blade.
So ez.. Link 3 or more enemy heroes. Ult, use that heal on allies or enemies, dagon level 5! refresh rinse repeat.
y, avoid active items as support and you are fine..
"Arcanes aren't very important in team fight"
lol ok

LoL nice.... I hate using tangos and mana pots early game anyways. 6 iron branches will solve my slow fingers hitting an item to use. I'd rather run back to the fountain and leave my lane uncontested early game anyways.

Everytime i play as a support i have to think about when to activate my 4 active abilities (Warlock in this case), mek, mana boots, drum, wand etc in a team fight, and i start making stupid decisions because of having so many things to think about. Anyone else feel this way sometimes or is it just me?
