yup until about your 3rd battlefury it is you highest dmg dealing item UNLESS you only fight 1v1 with 0 creeps
Everyone plays ember differently and he is fast becoming one of the most popular heroes in Dota2. Some people will take him mid and get Phase - Bottle - Drums - Desolator - Daedalus while some take him safe lane and will farm for 2 battlefurys - 2 daedalus - boots - desolator.
I guess due to the way crit works/stacks in slight of fist you have a much higher chance to get a slightly lower damage critical hit, at least that is the assumption. I have seen some really good embers going for Skadi and Mjölnir to add a slow in slight of fist or a shield stack with Mjölnir as well as a potential lightning proc.
most of the people who go maelstrom are either
trolling
or
inexperienced
Its still a decent situational item, just stacking them won't proc multiple instances and there are probably many other items you could go for.
that is like saying sheep stick is situational on bounty hunter, sure I have got it in a very select few matches but the same could be said about almost any item in dota
maybe they were fountain farming, crystalis is the next best damage item you can fully assemble from the base shops after deso

So today I was searching for the best ember spirit players and I just saw a lot of matches when they bought THREE crystalis for ember.
And my question is : Is it a viable choice? Or that money should be spent on something else?
