Puck is pretty versatile in terms of item variety imo.
I always stat phase shift first. No mana cost, 6 sec cd to take 0 dmg. OP right? Just work on the timing, it's hard.
Other than that I guess just basic deny/cs and use advantage of your orb to gain ruin control.
And keep in mind, when playing vs good pudge, mirana, they CAN see where you will end with orb. So don't just wait till then end and use it, you might get dragged back or arrowed.

Ah yes, I always used to rush Dagon back in Dota1. I'm not too sure of the item's value nowadays, because sure, I can get more kills that way, but it's basically a KS item and having played support for so many games, my appreciation for the item is not very high, unless I'm some sort of ganking hero who doesn't get much farm aside from kills and assists. Yes, Puck is a strong ganker, but I'm not too sure about his snowballing potential.
How good an idea is rushing a Blink Dagger/Force Staff? As I said, Puck seems like a fun hero and that's one of the main reasons I want to play it :)

Well Dota 1 had EM so it was different. Blink/Force is good. Sometimes I go ArcBoots/Blink/Force/Euls/Sheep/Shiva, but sometimes I'll replace it with halberd or ghost/eth blade or dagon depending on the lineup and how well I'm doing.
Pretty sure null > bottle/brown boots > Blink is the standard, maybe a wand or something in there. Dunno~.
Have a support pool you 2 tangos for mid.

So, I've been wanting to expand my hero pool and my overall ability with other roles. I want to get better at mid lane because far too many pub mids suck complete ass, myself included of course, but hey, if I want to solve that problem, then I might as well turn into the answer myself don't you think? (...what the fuck did I just type?)
Anyway, so far, the only hero I can mid with decently is Viper (but then again, who can't?), even though I mostly build items that a lot of people would consider weird or retarded on him. Puck seems like a real fun and challenging hero to use and browsing my games I noticed that my last Puck game was 9 fucking months ago and I hardfed in it to boot. So, what advices can you guys give to someone who hasn't touched the hero for so long? Who hardcounters him/her? Which items should I build first?
Anything from basic to advanced advice will be highly appreciated. :)
