It's actually an OP strat. Just because of that Pugna suddenly became a top pick when he was an outcast. The fact that they can't be countered by Midas or HotD anymore means you gotta have a chen or an ench in your team who are now easily countered by BH. And you can just ban them as well. It's quite a popular strat now.
They can be countered by diffusal blades, Navi was close to win the game against necrobooks. But i wont disagree with you on the rest
Diffusal blade works with charges while necro doesn't and there are not even that many heroes who are supposed to get diffusal in pro games. Maybe PL Mirana or Jugg but all 3 are rarely picked anyway.
Mirana was picked yday almost in every game. Both sides. They had TA and Mirana with diffusals.
EDIT: All in all its a popular strat. But i dont believe that it can give you more than 1 win in a series of 5 games. They can counter it by banning certain heroes etc etc
and then they pick medusa that kills all necro creeps with one ulti and receives 3000 pure damage in her mouth.
@havoc
i think your silencer should have gotten refresher and yall could have one. was he ulting well?
If this becomes a thing Medusa/Gyrocopter + Omniknight will be seen more often.
Theorycrafting mode off.
@Dotafreak Its Aron someone who I feel is a decent player so I would assume so though I don't remember. The Agha upgrade might have been a option to burn a bit of the mana.
I don't feel this strat is too OP as it lends itself to a push strat and the tendency is for a team to die a lot trying to do this however that being said the higher kill count still might not win you if they are forcing a push this strong.
Look at the poor kda they got on mirana, they have no idea on how to play mirana lol
Just kidding lol
Necrobook has always been an op item, but they are expensive and high risk too.... as well for a team push to work you need at least two or three of them, that means it have to be your team carries's first big item... and they are pretty weak level 1
All that said, you cannot pick teams that have no counter pushing power like what alliance team deed in TI 3, pick a furion dog counter push lane and buy back all the time, killing all fun of dota lol
honestly if I were to reject you, that would probably be because of your shit avatar.
srsly wtf is that shit. anyways enough off topic from me

Patch 6.79 I've seen 3 pro matches who went for pushing/necro book strat and they win all 3.
- Navi vs liquid 2x
- Mineski vs Imp
Was the opposing team just caught off guard?
I think this strat will be a bit critical on the Navi vs Alliance match up in this kind of context
- is necrobook an OP strat?
- can this be simply negated by picking anti push supports (i thought IMP did a good job on windrunner + crystal maiden)
