How flexible do you think SK is in any team composition?
This complex issue. I think SK is the hero who loses potential in late game if he does not have farm enough to fight against farmed late heros. He got good escape mechanisms which helps him be aggressive when he pushes the lane. About lane pushing and late games - this is the hero which one got one of the best push skills. Passive makes you push lane always that sad, you cant just turn it off, but good think is spell not cost any mana, deals good damage in every game stage. In this question I should speak a little bit about early game. Actually different between good SK player and bad in early game is personal skill of player. How good he can analitic the fight speed, count mana of enemys, watch which spells out and stuff. Many things makes you available to burrowstrike and cast ulti. For example: you play SK level 7, no mana boots just boots of speed and Quelling blade (Actually one of the best items in SK for early game, imo), so you use command in console "dota_range_display 650" (4 lvl Burrowstrike) and can see circle which one helps you to stun from FoW (Fog of War). You destroy some trees on your way to target in jungle, that makes you close to them. Easy kill if enemy hero even got escape skills, but he wont be available to use it while you stun him, plus you got an bonus two hits from direct attack AND at the same time, when you try Burrowstrike and after insta ulti your target may run away/ blink away/ tp out. That is what different between good player and bad player in early game. One more thing about mid game, when you get your Blink Dagger. I just wanna say I never use to buy in pub BKB, and there is what makes me think about good SK player and bad again. Like you dont need BKB if there is not such of global spells what you need to avoid or something like that. I prefer hide in FoW like a bitch, but after all you got enough time to cast your ulti shift (if you needed) and blink in best position and Burrowstrike your enemy as many more as you can, this is really important.

Well last time when me and my mate was stackin' pub in two faces we use to play SK + hero who win late game (SF/ QoP(QoP just good, not really late hero, but good enough for it). So we use to go with SF in hard lane, I was support bitch or roam bitch if its QoP. After all that times gone. About your question: SK fits in many combos that just like sky and earth I think here is just all clear.

Most of all pub games I use to play like a tryhard (solo tryhard, funny isnt?). Anyway I play pub for a win in most of all times. I prefer play support/ roam, when dotaholic.com was alive you were available see my KDA was not about kills, but about assists. DB just shows general KDA, well that sucks. About tryharding if it can fit about question I may say I use to be teamspirit in pub games, always talking shit and stuff, makes people tune to win and stuff.
Is it always initiator?
Not always as I said before I use to hide in FoW while my teammates dies then I just cast ulti and take all the kills.
What heroes counter SK best?
If you get EB about time (~24-35 mins) you may deal with even level two ulti ~1600 damage, if you doin' everything right: Cast ulti - Blink in - EB the target - Burrow - Sand Storm. This is a lot, enemy just cant do anything. Remember fight 4x5 always not equal fight.
