And for tb, he isn't countered by core, only by sup. And sup who manage to climb very high are often horrible sup when it actually matter. (cause they had to play a different way, which is usually the most suited in ranked, but not suited to shut down a carry (like tb))

Only sup counter tb, cause no core can deal with either his split, or out teamfight him or solo kill/man fight him. And considering equal footing, tb will always have the momentum to choose which of those 3 he wants to drag the game too, since he can split super hard, and still spllit while being in a 5 men ball.
For example, slark cann't deal with split, or out teamfight him, but he can eventually solo kill him.
Anti mage can deal with split, but he cann't out teamfight or solo kill tb
Spectre can out teamfight him, but cann't deal with the split or man fight.
etc...
Tb basically do twice as much job as other carry. however, countrary to other carry, a single support can totally shut down his momentum (a carry cann't, cause if he was that dedicated to shut tb down, then he would have no farm, and thus fail later in the game).
for instance, having a support hunting illusion on the map can already cut tb's farm by 2 or 3. and before very late game, if he has only "average" farming, he really suck. tb has low hp, cann't go for sustain item (apart from travel, but travel ultra early isn't efficient enough now) so every little bit of annoyment he get is way bigger than for other carry, who all build sustain, and for which you basically comit to kill him, not just to lower his hp/mana, since otherwsie they would just farm safer waiting for their sustain to give them full hp again).
In addition, a carry cann't deal with tb's illusion at all in teamfight (exeption medusa/sven, eventually gyro) as all they are mono target, or almost mono target, thus they cann't reduce tb's dps, without once again going out of their way, and not doing they job.
There's however 3 exeptions, 3 core that deal quite well with tb:
naga, before being 6 slotted, tb will be out split, out teamfight, and cann't solo kill naga. And even by 6 slot, naga can still keep her ult to avoid every single fight tb would like to take with meta, and fight only when meta is down.
zeus, 3 spell = byebye illusion, tb will also suffer a lot from the heavy magic burst. At every stage of the game, he will be left with weak dps, and will have trouble simply surviving. The only thing you can do is split him. zeus can only deal with 1 lane, but considering zeus is less creep hungry than qop/ta/ w/e mid. Either the core can take care of the 2 other lane, or there's a sup/offlaner that was very farm, and thus can deal with 1 wave aswell.
Invoker (exort one) Kill tb all game long. tb cann't win late game due to deafeaning nova. That kind of invoker deal well with split. And worst of all, he can push tb's team, not even allowing tb to get his late game spoiled
Edit: Oh and on top of it. Support have spell that fuck tb super hard. (illusion cleaning, nuke...) which aren't half as annoying for most other carry. Core don't have such spell (apart from the one mentionned earlier, - and eventually zet-)
